Rabbi Avram  Rothman

    Rabbi Avram Rothman is the Rabbi of the Thornhill Community Shul, just North of Toronto in Thornhill, Ontario. Rabbi Rothman holds a PhD in Literature, a MS in Guidance & Counselling and Rabbinic Ordination from the famed Rabbi YY Ruderman, founding Rosh HaYeshiva of Ner Israel Rabbinical College. Originally from Syracuse, NY, Rabbi Rothman is married to Ruth, the Rebbetzin & an accomplished Psychiatric Nurse. They are the parents of four children and four grandchildren. Just over a year ago the Rabbi began to formulate and write a weekly letter to his community, entitled, “The Gripes of Rothman”. The letter expresses his opinions, feelings and Torah outlook on current events & controversial subjects in a down-to-earth, common sense fashion.. When the letters subscription list grew to over 700 readers, the Rabbi was approached to begin a blog, thereby allowing others to read and respond to his comments.
